Workshops
Turning Project Managers into Business Managers

Good Project Managers understand the work, beginning with a good schedule that includes labor, equipment, and subcontractors.  They also understand long lead procurement items, changes of conditions, and final punch list completion.  Good Business Managers see the broader picture.  They conduct all business with a visionary attitude, looking at every aspect of the current work and seeing how every interaction or reaction affects the business today and could affect the business in the future.

Why do you want your Project Managers to think more like managers of your business?  Understanding the “Why” for your organization is critical for achieving sustainable growth.  A key component for sustainable growth is systematically aligning your talent pool with the business needs of your organization, so that you have the right people in the right place at the right time.  How well do you know your talent pool?

This 90-minute workshop will give you a deeper understanding for identifying your organization’s “Why” for moving forward, “Who” is in your talent pool, and “What” the next steps are for developing Project Managers into Business Managers.

Workshop Highlights

  • Why: Discover the strategic reasoning behind moving your organization in this direction
  • Who: Better understand the strengths and depth of your talent pool
  • What:  Create a developmental roadmap for succession at all levels
  • Determine how to have the right people in the right place at the right time
  • Learn tactics to help your Project Managers "get their head off of the desk"
  • Learn tactics to help your Project Managers look and manage forward instead of down
